Public Notice: Permanent Closure of Facility Saunas
We regret to inform our members and patrons that, effective immediately, both dry saunas located in the men’s and women’s 18+ change rooms will be permanently closed.
Over the past several months, we have faced ongoing and increasingly serious safety and behavioral issues related to sauna use. After careful review, the decision has now been made to close the saunas permanently in the interest of safety.
The following issues have contributed to this decision:
- Medical Emergencies: Staff and lifeguards are frequently required to respond to individuals experiencing overheating or other medical issues related to sauna use.
- Intentional Misuse of Equipment: The continued application of water and other liquids to the dry sauna heating elements poses significant fire and respiratory hazards to both patrons and staff.
- Ongoing Non-Compliance with Rules: Despite clearly posted signage and repeated reminders, patrons continue to disregard established safety guidelines.
- Sexual Misconduct: We have received multiple reports of sexually inappropriate behavior occurring in the saunas. These incidents are part of a concerning and ongoing pattern.
Due to the repeated and serious nature of these incidents—and the fact that the sauna areas are not located in spaces that can be constantly supervised—we believe this permanent closure is necessary to maintain a safe environment for all facility users.
We understand that this decision may disappoint members who have used the saunas responsibly, and we thank you for your understanding and cooperation. The safety of our community remains our highest priority.
If sauna access was a significant factor in your membership, we are happy to discuss membership adjustments or issue a pro-rated refund. Requests can be submitted at the front desk.
Thank you for your attention and continued support.
