Pool Lifeguard - Full Time
Position Summary:
Cole Harbour Place is currently accepting applications for a full time day shift lifeguard position. This position offers a total of at least 24-40 hours a week for a 3 month term beginning September 3rd.
Responsibilities:
- Prevent injuries, incidents and emergencies by performing effective scanning and educating the public on safe pool behaviour as well as facility rules.
- Respond to minor and major incidents/situations and administer first aid in the event of injury.
- Demonstrate appropriate behaviour while interacting positively with staff and patrons.
- Perform routine safety inspections of all aquatic equipment/facilities and inform aquatic supervisors of any concerns.
- Complete paperwork including a daily logbook, pool reports, and incident reports.
- Maintain a level of fitness required to perform rescues and tasks associated with the duties of a lifeguard.
Qualifications & Skills:
- National Lifesaving and Intermediate Workplace First Aid certification required
- Swim for Life certification, Lifesaving Instructor certification and Oxygen Administration certification is an asset
- Previous experience as a instructor is an asset
- Demonstrates strong written and verbal communication
- Demonstrates strong customer service skills
- Ability to commit to 24-40 hours per week for a 3 month term
Compensation:
$15.35 - $15.75 / hr

Swim Instructor - Part Time
Position Summary:
Cole Harbour Place is currently accepting applications for a part-time swim instructor position September to November. This position offers a total of 6-25 hours per week, Monday-Thursday evening 4pm-7:30pm, Friday 4:00pm-6:30pm, Saturday and Sunday 9am-12pm.
Responsibilities:
- Effectively communicate with children and adults while maintaining a respectful and positive attitude.
- Instructing swimming techniques, strokes and water safety to participants 3 months old to ages 16 years and up.
- Communicate any concerns involving safety with aquatic supervisors.
- Ensure the safety of children while they are in lessons by maintaining control over the class.
- Prepare effective lesson plans to ensure productive class time.
- Complete paperwork associated with teaching swimming lessons including worksheets, midterms, and report cards.
- Assist in tidying the pool deck/staff room before and after lessons.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Swim for Life certification required
- Previous experience as a instructor is an asset
- Intermediate Workplace First Aid required
- National Lifesaving certification an asset
- Lifesaving Instructor certification an asset
- Demonstrates strong written and verbal communication
- Demonstrates strong customer service skills
- Ability to commit to 2-7 of the 2.5 to 3 hour shifts listed above for a 10 week term
Compensation:
$15.45 - $15.85 / hr
