Pool Lifeguard - Part Time
Position Summary:
Cole Harbour Place is currently accepting applications for a part-time lifeguard position. National Lifeguard Service Certification is required. AED/Oxygen and Swim For Life Instructor is an asset.
Responsibilities:
- Prevent injuries, incidents and emergencies by performing effective scanning and educating the public on safe pool behaviour as well as facility rules.
- Respond to minor and major incidents/situations and administer first aid in the event of injury.
- Demonstrate appropriate behaviour while interacting positively with staff and patrons.
- Perform routine safety inspections of all aquatic equipment/facilities and inform aquatic supervisors of any concerns.
- Complete paperwork including a daily logbook, pool reports, and incident reports.
- Maintain a level of fitness required to perform rescues and tasks associated with the duties of a lifeguard.

Swim Instructor - Part Time
Position Summary:
Cole Harbour Place is currently accepting applications for a part-time swim instructor position. A Swim For Life Certification is required. Lifesaving Instructor and National Lifeguard Service Certification is an asset.
Responsibilities:
- Effectively communicate with children and adults while maintaining a respectful and positive attitude.
- Communicate any concerns involving safety with aquatic supervisors.
- Ensure the safety of children while they are in lessons by maintaining control over the class.
- Prepare effective lesson plans to ensure productive class time.
- Complete paperwork associated with teaching swimming lessons including worksheets, midterms, and report cards.
- Assist in tidying the pool deck/staff room before and after lessons.

Recreation Leaders - Part Time
Position Summary:
Casual Recreation Staff is responsible for supervising & leading various registered and drop-in programs for participants of all ages and abilities. They will assist with the development, coordination, promotion, and provision of quality programs and services at Cole Harbour Place. Causal Recreational Staff will provide safe inclusive instruction and will be able to adapt and modify programming for all skill levels. They will ensure all programs are facilitated in a safe environment and follow facility policy and procedures. This position requires part-time work, 5-10 hours a week. Includes evening and weekend hours. Casual Recreation Staff reports to the Recreation Coordinator.
Looking for leaders to work the following programs:
- Learn to Skate (Weekday)
- Tumbling Tots, Cheerleading & Dash & Splash (Saturdays 9:30 AM - 1:00 PM)
Responsibilities:
- Lead and participate in program activities
- Preparation and maintenance of program equipment and supplies
- Plan, organize, schedule, instruct and evaluate program activities
- Supervise preschool to older adults in the program
- Upholding and enforcing facility policies and procedures
- Understanding and (when necessary) implementing Emergency Operating Procedures
- Report to Recreational Coordinator
Qualifications:
- Self-starter and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Ability to plan, organize, schedule, instruct and evaluate program activities
- A proactive team member that contributes to a positive work environment
- Exercise initiative and good judgment when completing a work assignment
- Ability to be a positive role model for children & youth
- Have knowledge & experience in the program you are applying to run
- Canadian Red Cross Standard First Aid & CPR Level ‘C’ OR St. John Ambulance Standard First Aid & CPR Level ‘C’ (Lifesaving Society qualifications are also accepted)
