Return to Play Plan

Welcome Back

As always, the health and safety of our members, users and staff is our first priority. To support this priority during the COVID-19 pandemic, additional measures and changes in services are required. Our reopening plan follows the current advice of Public Health experts, mandated legislation and takes into consideration best practices from similar facilities and sports organizations in Canada and internationally.

This section of our website explains what to expect at CHP as we reopen in stages. Please keep in mind that public health information and provincial directives can change quickly. We will make every effort to update our website as fast as possible as we adapt to these changes.

Return to Play Plan Update July 28, 2020

Masks are mandatory beginning Friday July 31, 2020 for all people entering the building as per Public Health Guidelines - https://novascotia.ca/news/release/?id=20200724004

Recently, the Province announced that as of Friday July 31, 2020, masks would be mandatory in public spaces.

Everyone entering Cole Harbour Place will be required to wear masks. There are a few exceptions.

  • Children under the age of 2 do not have to wear a mask
  • Children aged 3 & 4 should wear a mask, but if parents can’t get them to wear it, it will not be enforced
  • Persons who are unable to wear a mask for medical reasons, are exempt
  • Day camp participants will not be required to wear masks

Masks must be put on by people before entering the facility. If you do not have a mask on, staff at the door will remind you that you need to be wearing one to enter the building and you may be refused entry. Masks must be worn everywhere around the facility except for when you are participating in your activity.

You DO have to wear a mask in:

  • The entrance of the facility
  • Hallways
  • Washrooms
  • Arena (when you are not on the ice)
  • Locker rooms
  • Meeting rooms

You do NOT have to wear a mask when:

  • You are working out in the fitness centre
  • You are participating in a fitness class
  • You are on the ice surface
  • You are in one of the pools
  • You are in a squash court

When you are finished your activity, you will be required to put your mask back on and leave it on until you have left the facility.
